Review: Blue Lily, Lily Blue by Maggie Stiefvater
Things have gotten interesting for Blue Sargent, to say the least. Life with the raven boys has never been dull, but lately things are getting rough. Maura is missing, three sleepers are sleeping and it is imperative that they don’t wake the third, and revenge makes it’s way into town, putting everyone near it’s grasp in danger. As Blue and the boys delve further into their quest, questions are answered, lives are lost, and sleepers are awakened…

Would I recommend to a friend? Yes!
I swear this series just keeps getting better and better! Blue Lily, Lily Blue is probably my favorite book yet and that’s saying something because I adored the first two. Also, I have a bit of a love affair going on with the title. I just LOVE it. I have no idea why, it just is what it is haha.
So on par with the first two books in this series, the plot was fantastic. We definitely get further into the story and closer to answers. It’s just so darn addicting, it’s not even funny. I couldn’t put this book down! Great pace, front to back, and there were more than a few, what the hell just happened moments. I really have nothing else to say other than I loved it dearly, clearly (hehe)!
I love these characters so much. I feel like I’m a broken record for the reviews of this series but they are seriously some of my favorites. BL, LB brings us a lot of character and relationship development. It was all incredibly well done. We see friendships strengthen, romance blossom, and of course there’s a decent dose of conflict mixed in there to keep you on the edge of your seat. Without going into details I just loved the slow simmering romance in this series. It is like the complete opposite of instalove and I can’t get enough. I’m attached. Very attached. I’m scared for the last book!
My Thoughts in a Nutshell…
Blue Lily, Lily Blue, much like the other books in The Raven Cycle series, is an incredible read from start to finish. It leaves you even more attached to Blue and her raven boys then you even thought possible. I doubt I even need to say it, but if you’ve read the first two and haven’t picked this up yet…do it! It’s the best yet. Just beware, it leaves you wanting The Raven King, so do yourself a favor and make sure it’s available 🙂
“Don’t tell the others,” Gansey said.
“I’m dead,” Noah replied, “not stupid.”
“In my experience,” the Gray Man said, “the badasses are the most scared. I just avoid being inappropriately frightened.”
“Desire and dread lay right next to each other in his heart, each sharpening the other.”
“Behind him, he heard Ronan say, “I like the way you losers thought Instagram before first aid. Fuck off.”
Let’s chat about…
Blue and Gansey
BLUE AND GANSEY!!!
“I’m glad you misdialed.”
“Well. Easy mistake to make,” she said. Might do it again.” A very, very long pause. She opened her mouth to fill it, then changed her mind and didn’t. She was shivering again, even though she wasn’t cold with the pillow on her legs.
“Shouldn’t,” Gansey said finally. “But I hope you do.”
UGH! I just love them so, so much. I CAN’T HANDLE IT! I need them to get a happily ever after. I need it.
Not going to lie, I didn’t see her little escapade coming but I guess I should have. I mean she was staring into the mirror like a grade A creeper. I’m guessing that she’s going to bring a whole lot more trouble in the next book.
I KNEW SHE’D BE BACK! But I had no idea it would take almost two books. Holy crap she came back with a bang though. What on earth is the third sleeper?!! Some sort of worm king? Haha!
Adam and Ronan
I loved seeing their relationship strengthen this book. They really do have so much in common and it was good to see them both finally realize that. I LOVE THEM!
WHAT THE HECK! I did not even guess that this was going to happen. Talk about sad. That one hurt.
The Gray Man
Anyone else love his character? I don’t know what it is but I love it when the Gray Man is around!
